Iittala’s Taika 15th-anniversary mugs are adorned with a dark-hued, whimsical illustration that turns having a cup of coffee or tea into an adventure in a magical world of fantasy. Created by Klaus Haapaniemi, the illustration is based on Haapaniemi’s vivid childhood memory of cranes walking in a peat bog with water lilies floating around them.
Originally introduced in 2007, Taika is one of Iittala’s most popular collections, and no wonder – the combination of Heikki Orvola’s clean-lined tableware and Haapaniemi’s folklore-inspired illustrations is irresistible!
